Temporarily Closing
December 8th 2012
Hello Everyone
I regret having to write this update however I have to let you all know that I will be temporarily shutting down the rescue. I will still be placing the animals that I currently have but I will be unable to take in any new animals for the next three months. I hope that at that time we will be up and running again as normal but until then I encourage you to get in touch with your local Humain Society and other rescues in the area. If you would like help trying to place your pets feel free to contact me and I will do what I can to help. I apologize for any difficulty this may cause and wish you all the best into the new year.

October 22nd 2012 - Info Update
An FYI for everyone who checks our website - we are going to be making some changes to try and make things easier for you. We are slowly intergrating the changes over the next couple of months so that everything is updated by the new year. Changes include a new facebook page, new contact for email as well as a new website address. For the website it will be changed to www.sabrescue.weebly.com We are making it that anyone going to the old webiste will be automatically redirected so you should have to worry about that although their will no doubt be a couple of days for the transition to take place. The facebook page is located at Small Animal and Bird Rescue and we are hoping to have regular post of who has been adopted and who is available for adoption, as well as answer any questions should they be posted to us. Finally our new contact email is [email protected] Should you have any problems access any of our new features between now and the new year pls contact us immediately so we can resolve the issue asap. We look forward to expanding into more avenues to make things as

SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE!
With summer right around the corner all of us are getting out and enjoying the sun more and more. Our little pocket friends too love soaking up the rays and munching on fresh grass. However with these possible changes in routine comes some reminders and tips that will help keep your pet safe in the months ahead. It is always best if you are taking your pocket pet outside to stay out there with them and watch their goings on. If this is not possible make sure that their outdoor enclosure has a 'roof' or covering of some sort. This protects them from overhead dangers and preditors. Also if possible place the enclosure in a half sun half shade area of the yard and make sure they have some sort of shelter (hidy home, log hut ect) that they can go in if necessary. Water too should be available to them at all times in the form of a small bowl or bottle. Even with all this remember to check on them yourself every 10 - 15 mins to make sure that they are moving around and not getting overheated. Heat stroke is a very real danger and I myself know of two guinea pigs that have already died this year because of too much exposure to the sun. Please take the couple of extra minutes necessary to make your pet safe this summer as everyone enjoys the warm months ahead.
